White lace wedding garter

Since the wedding season is upon us I had a notion to make something wedding related.  I decided on making a garter, but I want it to look fairly old fashioned.

To get the look I want I have decided to crochet it in an old lace style.

The idea is that this garter will not have elastic, but will have a ribbon threaded through the larger "holes"

I also intend to sew on some beads, but until I have completed crochet and see how it looks I'll hold off on the final decision on beading.

Next project, destination unknown

Now that I have finally finished the walnut baby bear I can move onto something else.  I've not got a specific project in mind, so I am just going with the flow.  I am struggling to find the time to spend on crochet right now, there always seems to be so many things to do when I get home from work in the evening & the weekends are just tooooo short!

Right now I am kind of doodling.  I am doing some lacy crochet using some cotton yarn I have lying around (Sirdar luxury soft) - I really need to get my yarns organised, another job to add to the list!

At the moment nothing is presenting itself as an end result for this effort, but I will keep going and see where my imagination takes me.

I think that these lacy strips often make nice jewellery pieces, but this one is too substantial for that.  I will keep working using this same pattern for a bit more and have another think.

White crochet Cuff

I haven't made any jewellery for a while and thought it would be nice to make something other than a necklace, I've already got quite a few of those made.

I always like the way that its possible to create wonderful patterns with crochet, I really like the vintage feel of this particular piece.  Part lace, part solid.

I closed the back with pretty little flower cut buttons.
