Crochet Frame Coin Purse

I've had a few coin purse frames for a while and just hadn't got round to using them.  So in between learning to use my new spinning wheel (still a work in progress!) and finishing off my shawl for my mum I decided to get them out and make a little purse or two.

These little frames are abut 3.5" wide and have pretty little olive shaped heads.

I Sirdar Baby Bamboo DK yarn in my two favorite colours, purple and green, alternating in single row stripes.

I think its quite a cute little coin purse and not bad for a first attempt with this frame.

I'll blog again soon with my next attempt with this frame size .... its still a work in progress.

Crochet summer bag, with flowers

This was one of my evolving projects, I was on a "making flowers" kick and then needed to make them into something.  So I thought of a nice summer handbag/purse.

I love the yarn I used, its Sirdar's Luxury soft 4Ply cotton yarn.  It does have the tendancy to split but its lovely to work with and the finished product is so soft and touchable.

I didn't want to make a plain or just striped bag, so I used the spike stitch to create a nice effect.

I also didn't want to just sew some flowers onto the bag as "decoration" so I made the flap from them

Just for fun I also threw in a small butterfly in the flowers :)

I have not decided if this is for sale or not yet ....

Fat Bottom purse

I have crocheted the sides for the purse.

The task for today is to create a credit card pocket for inside and then to make-up the purse.  Installing the Zip may be the bigger challenge for me :)

I thought of hand sewing in the zip, but I reconsidered and machine sewed it.

Then I added in the credit card pocket. 

The best tip I can give is to remember to open the zip before sewing up the sides, I forgot and it was quite a task to get it opened again LOL

Then I decided that it would be good to add a handle, & some beads ... I'm a fiddler!!

Fat bottom coin purse

I've been planning to make a coin purse for a while now.  I started one a few months back and was crocheting in the round, but decided that it wasn't coming out as I wanted.

I've started again, using Patons 100% cotton 4Ply in Grape.

I've decided that I will make the purse side at a time.  In order to make it a fat bottomed purse I am increasing at the ends of every other row.  Once I get closer to the top I plan to decrease quickly.

I'm planning a zip closure right now, maybe I'll try another with a purse frame another time.
